Giovedì 30 aprile alle ore 15:00 Achille Nucita (Università del Salento, Lecce) terrà un seminario dal titolo “Lensing at all scales”.
Abstract:
Gravitational lensing has emerged as a powerful tool for probing the Universe across a vast range of physical scales. We give an overview of the gravitational lensing phenomena, from retro-lensing by black holes and microlensing by stellar-mass objects to strong and weak lensing by galaxies and galaxy clusters. We will discuss the underlying theoretical framework, key observational techniques, and recent advances enabled by modern surveys and high-resolution instruments also via a machine learning approach.
